MLB news 5/5/18

1. The Los Angeles Dodgers threw a combined no hitter against the San Diego Padres last night in Mexico City. Starter Walker Buehler was lifted after 6 no hit innings and the bullpen did the rest. Buehler is a hot prospect, one you should keep your eyes on.
2. With a single against the Seattle Mariners, Albert Pujols joins a club of hitters with 600 homers and 3,000 hits.
3. Gerrit Cole is on fire. The righty threw a complete game-16 strikeout shutout of the Arizona Diamondbacks last night. His strikeout total matches the season high set by the Mariner's James Paxton only a few days ago.
4. The New York Mets have DFA'd Matt Harvey after poor starting and relief pitching this season. The decision to DFA Harvey came after he refused to accept a minor league demotion. If the Mets don't trade Harvey in a week, he becomes a free agent.
5. Miscellaneous news. Miggy Lands on DL, Yanks top prospect Gleyber Torres hits first career major league homer, Bryce Harper launches a bomb 473 feet, Rafael Devers leads Red Sox home run derby style win over the Texas Rangers with two homers.
