MLB news 5/9/18

1. The New York Mets have had enough of Matt Harvey. Just days after DFA'ing him, the Mets traded him to the Cincinnati Reds for C Devin Mesoraco and cash considerations.
2. Seattle Mariners P James Paxton has thrown the season's third no-hitter. In his first start since striking out 16, Paxton completely dominated a helpless Toronto Blue Jays lineup. He also had some help from Kyle Seager with a couple nice plays at third base.
3. Aroldis Chapman of the New York Yankees has the fastest pitch this season, at 103.3 MPH. The bad part is where the pitch landed. Chapman hit Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. with the pitch in his elbow. That's gonna leave a mark.
4. After Red Sox manager Alex Cora scratched P David Price from today's start against the Yankees due to numbness in his left thumb, it was revealed that Price has carpal tunnel syndrome. There is no timetable for his return.
5. Miscellaneous news: Jacob DeGrom slated to make next start, Mets' Frazier to the DL, Cubs' Heyward to concussion DL, Orioles' Bundy pulled in the 1st inning after giving up 7 runs without recording an out, Cubs discussing a possible trade for Manny Machado with the Orioles.
