Blockbuster deal!

We have a blockbuster trade on our hands. As first reported by Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, The Los Angeles Dodgers have traded outfielders Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp, Lefty Alex Wood, Catcher/infielder Kyle Farmer, and $7 million to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for ace Homer Bailey, prospects Josiah Gray and Jeter Downs, and international slot money. Bailey will reportedly be released by LA.

This trade comes as no surprise to Dodger fans as the team was openly shopping Matt Kemp, and Puig became disgruntled with the organization over playing time and asked for a trade. Releasing Bailey and shedding Puig's contract opens up money for LA under the luxury tax threshold. Rumors now say that the Dodgers will use that money to sign slugger Bryce Harper, considering the fact that LA just traded 2 outfielders, Puig being a right fielder, as well as Harper. We'll find out I guess.
