1. The Arizona Diamondbacks have traded 1B Paul Goldschmidt to the St.Louis Cardinals in exchange for RHP Luke Weaver, IF Andy Young, C Carson Kelly, and a round B compensation pick in the 2019 draft. Surprised that Goldschmidt was traded on the cheap
2. The Cleveland Indians exercised their 2 year option on RHP Carlos Carrasco's contract, and Carrasco signed a 2 year extension, making him an Indian until the end of the 2022 season.
3. The Boston Red Sox have re-signed playoff hero RHP Nathan Eovaldi to a 4 year, $68 million deal

4. The Minnesota Twins have signed 2B Jonathan Schoop to a 1 year, $7.5 million deal
5. MLB mourns the loss of retired players Luis Valbuena(newly retired) and Jose Castillo, who were killed in a car accident last night. Valbuena was 33, and Castillo was 37.
6. According to the New York Mets general manager, Tim Tebow is "one step away from major leagues" Tebow will start this year at Class AAA Binghamton, but I think him playing in the majors is a ridiculous idea
