The 2018 winter meetings have started in Las Vegas, Nevada, and some key moves have taken place
1. The Kansas City Royals have signed speedy OF Billy Hamilton to a 1 year, $5.25 million deal
2. The Detroit Tigers have signed veteran journeyman RHP Tyson Ross to a 1 year, $5.75 million deal
3. The Mariners have claimed OF Kaleb Cowart off of waivers from the Los Angeles Angels, and are talking about making him a 2 way player. Really Seattle? Is that really a good idea? I sure don't think so
4. The Toronto Blue Jays have released SS Troy Tulowitzki, and will eat up the $38 million still owed to Tulowitzki in his contract
5. The New York Yankees, Mets, and Miami Marlins are reportedly discussing a "massive" 3 team trade that would reportedly involve Miami C JT Realmuto and NYM stud pitcher Noah Syndergaard, or Thor.
6. The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded RHP Ivan Nova to the Chicago White Sox for RHP Yordi Rosario and international slot money. This figures to be a decent move for the White Sox to get a veteran pitcher to mentor the young guns in their rotation
7. The Oakland Athletics have signed C Chris Hermann to a 1 year, $1 million contract
8. the Philadelphia Phillies have signed OF Andrew McCutchen to a 3 year, $50 million contract. The Phillies are clearly trying to go all in this year with the offseason moves they've made. Maybe it will work, or maybe not. Time will tell
9. The Baltimore Orioles are naming Brandon Hyde their new manager
