2019 HOF class

Mariano Rivera, the late Roy Halladay, Mike Mussina, and Edgar Martinez are the newest members of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Rivera became the 1st unanimous inductee in the history of Baseball. Halladay died tragically in a plane crash in November 2017. The Induction ceremony will take place on Sunday, July 21, at the Baseball hall of fame in Cooperstown, NY.

Halladay's widow, Brandy, said in a statement that "If only Roy were here  to personally express his gratitude for this honor, what an even more amazing day this would be," she told MLB.com's Todd Zolecki.

Mussina, who pitched for the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees, won 270 games over his 18 year MLB career, and was elected in his 6th year of eligibility.

Martinez is widely considered to be the greatest DH of all time, and goes into the Hall on his 10th and final year of eligibility. Martinez, from Puerto Rico, spent his entire big league career with the Seattle Mariners. Some people who narrowly missed induction are Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Curt Schilling, and Larry Walker.
