Allen joins Halos

Another reliever off the board, and this time it's Cody Allen. Allen has signed with the Los Angeles Angels on a 1 year, $8.5 million deal, according to Ken Rosenthal. Allen can receive another $2.5 million in performance bonuses. Allen has been looking for an opportunity to close games, and he'll get that in LA. The Angels need bullpen help after acquiring a couple starters, so Allen should get right into the closer role as he fits a need the Angels wanted. Right now, Ty Buttrey is set to be the closer. Allen, who did save 27 games last year for the Cleveland Indians, is coming off of a down season. He posted a 4.70 ERA with 11 homers allowed, a 1.36 WHIP, and his strikeouts per 9 innings ratio dropped by nearly 2 strikeouts
