Kevin Plawecki dealt to Cleveland

The New York Mets have traded C Kevin Plawecki to the Cleveland Indians for prospects Walker Lockett and Sam Haggerty. Since the Indians traded starter Yan Gomes earlier this winter, they have been searching for a catcher, and Plawecki will compete with Roberto Perez for the starting job this spring.
Plawecki played in 79 games for the Mets last season, and had a .210 batting average with a .685 OPS. He threw out 23% of base stealers last season, which is just below the league average.
