The defending champion Boston Red Sox lost LHP Drew Pomeranz to the San Francisco Giants on a 1 year, $1.5 million deal a few hours ago, according to Ken Rosenthal. Pomeranz had an excellent 2017 season, winning 17 games, but was just 2-6 in 2018 while being hampered by injuries, including a strained flexor tendon, neck discomfort, and biceps tendinitis. Pomeranz mostly pitched out of the Boston bullpen last season, and was occasionally a spot starter and long reliever.
