Arenado avoids Arbitration, settles for record salary

The Colorado Rockies and 3B Nolan Arenado have avoided arbitration on a record 1 year, $26 million deal, breaking 3B Josh Donaldson's record of $23 million, according to Ken Rosenthal. Arenado wanted $30 million, while the Rockies were only willing to give $24 million. These negotiations reportedly took hours, eventually settling at $26 million. Arenado is a multi-gold glove winner at 3rd base and finished 3rd in NL MVP voting last year. He is scheduled to become a free agent next winter.
