Matt Joyce off to Cleveland

The Cleveland Indians have signed veteran OF Matt Joyce to a minor league deal worth $1.25 million at the major league level with an extra $500,000 in bonuses, according to Bob Nightengale. Joyce does get an invite to Spring Training with the Indians in Goodyear, Arizona, which has their first full squad workout on February 18. Joyce is an 11 year veteran who has played for 5 teams, most recently the Oakland Athletics last season. Over 83 games, Joyce had 7 Home Runs and a .675 OPS in a season plagued by back problems. Joyce joins an Indians outfield that has lost Michael Brantley, Lonnie Chisenhall, Rajai Davis, and Brandon Guyer.
