Severino extended by Yanks

The New York Yankees have avoided arbitration with their ace RHP Luis Severino by agreeing to a 4 year, $40 million extension. ESPN's Jeff Passan reports that there is an option for a 5th year. His deal can max out at $52.25 million over 5 years. The deal covers all of Severino's arbitration eligible years plus one year of free agency if the option is exercised. Severino has been the staff ace of the Yankees and has posted a 41-25 record with a 3.51 ERA and 572 K's since arriving in the league in 2015. He is a 2 time all star and has finished in the top 10 in AL Cy Young voting 2 seasons in a row. However, he did crumble in the ALDS against the Boston Red Sox. He started game 3. The same game 3 where my BoSox routed the alledged "Bronx Bombers" 16-1. Enjoy that troll.
