Giants OF Parra leaves game after taking fastball to face

San Francisco Giants OF Gerardo Parra exited last night's 6-5 loss to the San Diego Padres in the 8th inning after a pitch from Padres reliever Brad Wieck hit him near the face. The 93 mile an hour fastball hit Parra's shoulder, then hit him in the jaw. Parra was facedown for several minutes while team trainers helped Parra. He was replaced by pinch runner Derek Holland.

Giants Manager Bruce Bochy said after the game that Parra suffered a cut lip, but is OK otherwise. Parra is reportedly available to play, according to Bochy. Parra has hit .200 with 2 RBI and 2 walks this season.
