Lemahieu, Urshela leave game as Yanks bench gets thinner

Here we go again. The New York Yankees keep getting hurt. DJ Lemahieu and Gio Urshela became the latest bruised bombers as the pinstripes finished a sweep of the San Francisco Giants yesterday. Lemahieu was removed in the 3rd inning due to inflammation in his right knee caused by fouling a pitch off the knee Friday night. Lemahieu is hitting .310 with 15 RBI this season.

Urshela left after being hit by a cutter from Nick Vincent in the 5th inning, striking Urshela in the left hand. Urshela is batting .351 with 6 RBI so far. The Yankees announced X-Rays from both players came back negative, which is a relief for Yankee fans. Lemahieu underwent an MRI today, and it is unknown the result of the MRI. The Yankees have had 15 players on the IL at one time or another, and only Gary Sanchez and CC Sabathia have come back, making 13 currently on the IL. The Yankees bench was so depleted they had pitcher JA Happ come in to pinch hit in the 7th inning.
