Stanton hits IL with biceps strain

The New York Yankees have placed OF Giancarlo Stanton on the 10 day injured list(IL) with a left biceps strain. In a corresponding move, Clint Frazier was called up from Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Manager Aaron Boone said Stanton had a grade 1 strain in his left bicep and will be shut down for at least 10 days before resuming baseball activities. The Yankees are already dealing with injuries to Jacoby Ellsbury and Aaron Hicks in the outfield. Stanton said that "I don't like it at all. I just worked for six weeks to get here, plus the offseason," and that "I'd much rather this would have popped in (during) spring training, but it's where we're at."
