Well, Marcus Stroman ended up in New York, but he didn't end up with the team everyone thought he would. The Toronto Blue Jays traded Stroman and cash considerations to the New York Mets in exchange for top pitching prospects Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods Richardson. Stroman departed the Jays clubhouse after their 10-9 loss without speaking to reporters. He did send some farewell tweets to the Toronto faithful, and followed that up with how excited he is to join the Mets.

Stroman is having a fantastic season, posting a 2.96 ERA over 21 starts this season. He also was selected to the all star game in Cleveland. The Mets have control over Stroman through 2020. Stroman was being pursued by a handful of teams including the Phillies, Yankees, Braves, and Red Sox. Kay was selected in the first round of the 2016 draft by the Mets, and he has a 3.13 ERA over 19 starts between Double A Binghamton and Triple A Syracuse. Woods Richardson has a 4.25 ERA over 20 starts for Single A Columbia.
