During Sunday's game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Tampa Bay Rays, the teams agreed on a trade. The Rays traded for Blue Jays SS Eric Sogard in exchange for two players to be named later. Sogard was scheduled to play, but was scratched from the lineup. Sogard said that "It was an interesting scenario. I was thinking, 'what team I should be cheering for?' in a way."

Sogard signed a minor league deal with Toronto this winter, and has been a revelation at the plate. He is hitting .300 with 17 doubles and 30 RBI over 73 games played. He played 5 different positions for Toronto this season and should fill that same utility role in Tampa Bay. The Chicago Cubs also tried to acquire Sogard, but Toronto liked Tampa's return better.
