No matter what happens down the stretch, the Atlanta Braves will be competing in the playoffs. Mike Foltynewicz threw a gem and the bats came alive for a 10-1 rout of the Washington Nationals to secure the postseason spot. They are 10 1/2 games up in the division and are at least guaranteed a wild card spot, but they want the NL east. A combination of 4 Braves win or 4 Nats losses will guarantee them the division.

The Braves became the second team to clinch a playoff spot after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched last week. They were trailing 1-0 for most of Saturday's game, but the bats came alive in the 7th with the game tied at one for 9 runs and a 10-1 lead, which they held on to, including a go ahead double from Ronald Acuna Jr. Foltynewicz went 6 innings, giving up one run on 4 hits and one walk.
