The Atlanta Braves have re-signed RHP Darren O'Day to a one year, $2.25 million deal, the team announced Friday. O'day's contract includes a $3.5 million option for the 2021 season. Because of various injuries, O'Day has appeared in just 28 games over the last two years.

When the Braves acquired O'Day at the 2018 trade deadline, it was already known that he would miss the season due to injury. He missed most of this season due to injuries suffered in spring training. He recovered, and made 4 appearances in the NLDS against the St.Louis Cardinals. O'Day returning means the Braves have another arm in the back of the bullpen to compliment Shane Greene and Mark Melancon. In his career, O'Day has a 2.55 ERA, and has held righties to a 1.95 average against him. He is 36-19 in his career.
