Boston Red Sox vs Northeastern Huskies
The Red Sox always start their spring training games with a game against the Northeastern Univeristy Huskies, who play a few miles away from them in Boston. The game was an abbreviated one, it only lasted 7 innings, and the Red Sox came out on top by a 3-0 score. All 3 Red Sox runs came in the 6th inning, with an RBI single from Ryan Fitzgerald and a two run single from Jantzen Witte. Two of the guys from the Mookie Betts trade played as well. Jeter Downs had an infield single and two errors, and Connor Wong went 0-1 and threw out two runners attempting to steal. Adam Lau got the win for the Red Sox, and Eduard Bazardo locked down the 7th for the save. Rick Burroni took the loss for Northeastern. The Red Sox outhit the Huskies 6-4 in the game.    The Tigers started their spring training season against Southeastern University. We had the Spring's first walkoff, as the Tigers walked it off with a 5-4 victory on Danny Pinero's RBI single. There were only 11 hits in the game, with Detroit getting the 6-5 advantage. Tarik Skubal started for the Tigers, and threw two innings of no hit ball before giving it up to the bullpen. Ryan Munoz started the game for Southeastern, throwing just one inning. Jared Tobey was given the win for the Tigers, and Carlos Soto took the loss for the Fire. Southeastern had a 2-0 lead on the Tigers when the Tigers scored twice in the 5th, and both teams scored in their frames of the 6th to tie it at 4. That set the stage for Pinero to deliver in the 9th.
