MLBPA rejects MLB's latest proposal

Oh boy, MLB made another proposal to the players association. So how long is it gonna take them to deny it? One hour, wow that was quick. Yes, MLB made another proposal to the MLBPA earlier today, which includes a 76 game season with 75% of prorated salaries, according to ESPN's Karl Ravech. This latest proposal also includes playoff pool money and no draft pick compensation for free agents who deny the qualifying offer.

In this proposal, the season would begin July 10, and the season would end in late September like usual and the playoffs would run through October. MLB is also trying to expand the playoff field, with the proposal containing 16 playoff teams, 8 from each league. The proposal would also have the players sign an "acknowledgement of risk" waiver that would prevent any liability lawsuit against MLB should someone test positive, which the players are reluctant to do.

The MLBPA has been asked to respond by Wednesday, but they've already voiced lots of negative remarks about this proposal. The MLBPA believes that this proposal is worse than the previous one, and it seems that with every plan MLB presents, the two sides have been growing farther apart in terms of an agreement being reached.

So yeah, this is another proposal the MLB wants the MLBPA to agree to, but one that the MLBPA won't. Everything is crazy in the baseball universe. Because of this, neither the owners or players are getting much sympathy from the public, especially given that other major sports like the NBA, MLS, and NHL all have plans to return that have been agreed upon.
