The St.Louis Cardinals are slated to replace the New York Yankees in MLB's "Field of Dreams" game on August 13, according to Bruce Levine of 670 The Score. MLB is still planning to stage the game in Dyersville, Iowa, but due to the Yankees being on the east coast, they will not travel to Iowa.

MLB issued a statement on the game recently, saying that "To date there has been no change in the status of the event, and we hope to have the option to play, construction is continuing and we are following all CDC and state protocols regarding recommended safety practices, including social distancing, washing hands, and temperature checks before arriving to the site. Safeguarding public health is our top priority."

To limit travel this season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic worldwide, MLB split up divisions by geographical location, and teams will not play outside of their divisions. Since the Yankees and White Sox, who were the original matchup, are in different divisions, the Yankees can no longer participate, so the Cardinals, who are in the same division as the White Sox, were chosen instead. MLB is constructing the stadium, which can seat 8,000 fans, but due to the Pandemic, it is unclear if fans will be allowed to come to the game.
