Baseball executive Dave Dombrowski is joining an MLB expansion group looking to bring baseball to Nashville, TN. The group is called Music City Baseball LLC. The working name for any potential team in Nashville is the Nashville Stars. The news was broke first by Tommy Deas of the Tennessean.

Dombrowski said during an interview that "It's clear to me that Nashville is ready for Major League Baseball, and Music City Baseball is making smart and exciting decisions as it works to bringing a team here, from it's relationship with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum to its community support, Music City Baseball has built a strong foundation."

Dombrowski also said that "Nashville is a city with deep baseball roots, and as we emerge from the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, I believe baseball, and more specifically Music City Baseball, can play an important role in bringing the city back together, my wife, Karie, and I are looking forward to becoming part of the Nashville community."

Dombrowski joins Music City Baseball as a consultant and advisor. Dombrowski joins a group that includes hall of fame manager Tony LaRussa and former Arizona Diamondbacks GM Dave Stewart. Dombrowski has had front office roles with the Detroit Tigers, Washington Nationals, Miami Marlins, and most recently the Boston Red Sox.
