Now, it's time to cover the NL in the top prospect series, starting off with the NL East.

Atlanta Braves: Drew Waters, OF
With top prospect Cristian Pache getting hurt and Nick Markakis opting out, Waters becomes a favorite to make his MLB debut this season, even though they signed Yasiel Puig. Waters is a switch hitter who can drive the ball to all fields, even though he is better from the left side. As he starts to increase his power, some of the 40 doubles he hit in 2019 could turn into homers as he starts to get stronger. Waters will be something to see.

Miami Marlins: Sixto Sanchez, RHP
Sanchez, the team's top prospect and headliner in the JT Realmuto trade, is ready to make the jump this season. Sanchez has a deadly fastball, routinely topping off in the 95-99 range and a two seamer that sinks. His best offspeed pitch is his changeup, as he can pull the string at just the right time to fool hitters. His slider needs work, but he slips it in every so often to cause problems for hitters. This guy can be the next ace of Miami.

Washington Nationals: Wil Crowe, RHP
Carter Kieboom was debuting regardless, so Crowe gets the nod here. He commands his fastball well, despite it only maxing in the 95 mph range, which makes it tough to hit. He mixes in the sinker with good command as well so batters can't sit on the fastball at the plate. His changeup is a great compliment to the fastball, rated as above average by scouts. He can also drop a slider and curveball in there just to keep you guessing. Crowe bringing 5 good pitches to the table spells trouble for the NL East.

Philadelphia Phillies: Alec Bohm, 3B
Bohm's combo of plate approach and bat speed gives him the potential to be a deadly force at the major league level. His patience is major league ready, as he doesn't get pull happy and jump on the ball. His strikeout rate is low and walk rate is high, and can make quick adjustments at the plate. Bohm can play at 3rd and first base, so there should be a shot for him no matter what.

New York Mets: Andres Gimenez, SS
Gimenez is an above average shortstop defensively thanks to his quickness and speed up the middle, committing just 11 errors in 112 games played with Double A Binghamton. At the plate, he hits for contact, spraying line drives from gap to gap. Though he's short, he's got great bat speed and power, which are good tools to have. He can also steal bases in bunches. Watch out for Gimenez.
