Since the meetings in Florida ended in a tense fashion on Tuesday, there is at least one meeting taking place. MLB deputy commissioner and lead negotiator Dan Halem and MLBPA lawyer and senior director Bruce Meyer met informally on Thursday afternoon, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

The meeting, the first since Tuesday, was an informal one between Halem and Meyer that lasted an hour and a half. MLB senior vice president Morgan Sword and MLBPA attorney Ian Penny were also present at the meeting. It was held in order for the sides to build a vision on resuming formal CBA negotiations in the near future.

The day this post has been published, March 3, is day number 92 of the lockout, with day 100 getting ever closer. Since the lockout began, Halem and Meyer have served as lead negotiators for their respective sides, since the beginning of December.

According to Marly Rivera of ESPN, the tone of the meeting had a similar feel to the larger one that took place on Tuesday, with nothing positive to report and no breakthroughs even close to having been made. There has been no indication from either side as to when another meeting will be taking place, after both sides left Florida on Wednesday.

After the announcement of the delay of the regular season, the MLBPA has received support from other major sports. The NFLPA released a statement that says that they stand in solidarity with the MLBPA, adding that without the players, there is no game. The NBPA also praised the MLBPA for their sacrifice of games in a statement.
