Jed Lowrie joins NL

The New York Mets have signed 2B Jed Lowrie to a 2 year, $20 million deal, as first reported by Jeff Passan. Lowrie will earn $10 million in 2019 and 2020. Lowrie has played for many teams, but this is his first NL Team. Lowrie previously played with the Boston Red Sox, Oakland Athletics, and Houston Astros, both for 2 stints. Lowrie is a versatile infielder who can play 2nd and 3rd base, as well as shortstop. He had a career year last season for Oakland, who returned to the playoffs but couldn't beat the Yankees in the wild card game. Lowrie hit .267 with 23 Homers and 99 RBI over 157 games.
