Lots of free agency!

The Minnesota Twins have agreed to a 1 year, $3.2 million contract with RHP Blake Parker yesterday. Parker saved 14 games last year for the Los Angeles Angels, with a 3.26 ERA and 70 Strikeouts over 67 appearances. Parker has a combined 3.29 ERA over 6 seasons

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to a 2 year, $18 million contract with Nationals reliever Kelvin Herrera yesterday. Herrera recently helped the Kansas City Royals to two straight AL pennants, in 2014 and 2015, and a world series championship in 2015. He split last year between the Royals and the Washington Nationals. In Kansas City, Herrera had a 1.05 ERA with 14 saves in 27 outings. Herrera struggled after going to Washington, with a 4.34 ERA over 21 appearances. Herrera is the 2nd all star reliever the White Sox have gotten this winter, after they traded for Alex Colome in November.

The Chicago White Sox and OF Jon Jay have agreed to a 1 year, $4 million contract, pending a physical. Jay will join Chicago's outfield shuffle, which includes Nicky Delmonico, Adam Engel, and Daniel Palka. Jay, who has played in the MLB for 9 years, split time last year between the Kansas City Royals and Arizona Diamondbacks. He had a .268 batting average in 143 games played last year. Jay and Manny Machado often train together in the offseason, and White Sox 1B Yonder Alonso is Machado's brother in law, so it seems the White Sox are trying to sway Machado by acquiring people close to him.
