The Atlanta Braves have re-signed OF Nick Markakis to a 1 year, $4 million deal yesterday, according to the team. Markakis was a key part of the Braves' surprising playoff run last season, and hit .297. Markakis also has a 2020 option worth $6 million. Markakis received more lucrative and long term offers from other teams, but accepted this deal because he prefers to stay in Atlanta, according to Jon Heyman. Atlanta has already signed 3B Josh Donaldson and C Brian McCann in a quiet offseason so far.
