Walker signed by Marlins

The Miami Marlins and Neil Walker have agreed to a 1-year deal reportedly worth $2 million, according to Ken Rosenthal. Walker spent last year with the New York Yankees, and posted a career-worst batting average, at .219. He also had 11 home runs, 46 RBI, and 87 strikeouts over 113 games last year. Walker also previously played for the crosstown New York Mets, as well as the Milwaukee Brewers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. In Miami, Walker will reportedly be used in a 1st base platoon with right-hander Peter O'Brien. Walker is a career .268 hitter. In 2014, Walker won a silver slugger while with the Pirates.
