Lawrie to Milwaukee on Minor League deal


The Milwaukee Brewers have signed IF Brett Lawrie to a minor league deal with an option for 2020, according to Robert Murray and Adam McCalvay. The deal could reach a max value of $7 million. Lawrie will earn $1 million if he makes the major leagues this season. This contract reportedly doesn't include an invitation to spring training. Lawrie last played in the majors for the Chicago White Sox back in 2016, and hit .248 with 12 Home Runs and 36 RBI. Lawrie has played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics, and Chicago White Sox. He has a career 71 Home Runs.
