Melky Cabrera off to Pittsburgh


The Pittsburgh Pirates and Melky Cabrera have agreed to a minor league deal, according to  Ken Rosenthal and Rob Biertempfel. Cabrera gets an invite to spring training in Bradenton, Florida. Cabrera can earn $1.15 million if he makes it to the majors with an extra $850,000 in incentives, according to Jeff Passan. Cabrera joins a Pirates outfield that includes Starling Marte, Lonnie Chisenhall, Corey Dickerson, and the injured Gregory Polanco, who isn't expected to return until June due to Labrum surgery. Cabrera played for the Cleveland Indians in 78 games last season. He has a career .286 batting average with 137 Home Runs
