Realmuto to Phils in latest blockbuster

The Philadelphia Philles are continuing their all in push this offseason with a blockbuster deal for Miami star C JT Realmuto about an hour ago. The Phillies get Realmuto, while Miami gets C Jorge Alfaro, pitching prospects Sixto Sanchez and Will Stewart, as well as international bonus pool money. If you ask me, I think the Marlins honestly could've gotten more for Realmuto, maybe another mid range prospect or a guy that could make an immediate impact. Alfaro should start, but I don't think he's good enough yet. They need more players who will make an immediate impact, and I think they didn't accomplish that.

Last Season, Realmuto was an all star and Silver Slugger, posting 21 Home Runs and an .825 OPS over 125 games. Realmuto is under Phillies control until the end of the 2020 season. Realmuto is also one of the best defensive catchers in the game, with a very strong arm.

Last season was Alfaro's first full year in the majors, and hit .262 with 10 Home Runs and 3 stolen bases, the amount Realmuto had last year as well. He is under Marlins control for 5 years and won't be eligible for arbitration until 2021. Stewart had a good season in the minors last year, posting a 2.06 ERA over 113 1/3 innings with Single-A Lakewood.

Sanchez is considered the number 1 prospect in the Phillies system and is the 27th best prospect in baseball according to MLB pipeline. With High-A Clearwater last season, Sanchez posted a 2.51 ERA. Elbow and Collarbone injuries limited him last season and kept him out of the Arizona Fall League. Miami gets $250,000 in international bonus money, according to Joel Sherman
