Bregman agrees to extension with 'Stros

The Houston Astros and 3B Alex Bregman have agreed to a 5 year, $100 million extension, according to Brian McTaggart. This contract buys out Bregman's arbitration years, and his first two free agency years. This contract is the second highest of any pre-arbitration player since Mike Trout signed his extension with the Angels. This is also the second highest contract in club history, behind only Jose Altuve.

Bregman hit .286 with 31 homers and 103 RBI last season. He made his first all star game and finished in fifth place in MVP voting. The Astros also extended Ryan Pressly for 2 years and $17.5 million.
