Cubs sign David Bote to 5 year extension

The Chicago Cubs and 3B David Bote have agreed to a 5 year, $15 million extension. The deal will begin in 2020, according to Jesse Rogers. The extension ends after the 2024 season, and there are club options for 2025 and 2026. Bote filled in for the Cubs last year when Kris Bryant was injured and became famous for this walk-off grand slam against the Washington Nationals(go to 3:15 on the video). Bote hit .239 with 6 homers and 3 stolen bases over 74 games played last season.
