Yankees' Severino shut down with additional injury

New York Yankees ace Luis Severino has a grade 2 lat strain and will be shut down for 6 weeks. The strain reportedly isn't connected to the shoulder injury he suffered in March. The Yankees say there wasn't an issue with Severino's lat when he underwent his first MRI in the spring. Manager Aaron Boone announced yesterday that Severino would need another MRI after he felt something wrong while throwing on flat ground. He was recently signed to a 4 year, $40 million extension by the Yankees.
