The New York Yankees have placed 3B Miguel Andujar on the 10 day IL with a right labrum tear, the team announced a few hours ago. This is Andujar's second stint on the IL this season, both times with the same injury. He missed all of April this year. He was off of IL for 9 games before being sidelined again. In his games, he batted a horrifying .088 in 35 plate appearances. Lefty Nestor Cortes Jr has been recalled from Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take Andujar's roster spot. Andujar avoided surgery the first IL stint, but manager Aaron Boone hasn't ruled it out this time around.

Chicago White Sox LHP Carlos Rodon is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery and will miss the rest of the season, the team announced a few hours ago. Rodon will undergo the surgery Wednesday, and GM Rick Hahn expects Rodon to be back by the second half of the 2020 season. Rodon had a 5.19 ERA this season, with a strikeout rate of 29.1 percent.

The Oakland Athletics have DFA'd Kendrys Morales for assignment less than two months after trading for him, the team announced earlier today. Oakland made the move to open a roster spot for Mark Canha, who has been activated from the 10 day IL. Morales was acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays after 1B Matt Olson got hurt in the Japan Series against the Seattle Mariners to start the season. Olson, Canha, and Khris Davis getting healthy, along with Morales' plate struggles meant there was no more playing time for him. Oakland has 7 days to trade, waive, or cut Morales.
