Cody Bellinger and Joc Pederson both hit 2 run homers as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres 6-3 last night. Both homered in the 3rd inning against Padres starter Chris Paddack, as the Dodgers have won 3 of the last 4 against the Padres. The Pederson-Bellinger duo has combined for 28 homers this season, one behind George Springer and Alex Bregman for most by teammates in the majors.

Bellinger drove in 3 runs and has a league best batting average of .409. His homer was his first since April 28. Clayton Kershaw gave up 3 runs and 5 hits, striking out 5 for his 3rd win in 4 starts. Kenley Jansen worked the 9th for is 13th save on the year. Manny Machado had 3 hits, including a 441 foot homer in the fourth for San Diego. Machado played the second half of last year with the Dodgers after being traded from Baltimore just before the trade deadline.

Franmil Reyes homered and had two hits for the Padres. Reyes' homer came in the top of the first to center field off Kershaw. Pederson's homer was the first hit of the game for the Dodgers, with Austin Barnes reaching on a throwing error. Machado's homer drew the Padres to within a run before the Dodgers scored twice to make it 6-3. The Dodgers send righty Kenta Maeda to the mound in the series finale tonight, while San Diego sends lefty Matt Strahm to the mound.
