Ryan Braun had a career night at the plate, but he knew it wouldn't mean anything if the Brewers didn't win. He made sure they did with his 6th hit of the game, a 2 run single in the 18th inning that propelled the Brewers to a 4-3 win over the New York Mets in a marathon game last night. Braun said after the game that ''That's a game you badly want to win because if you do win it, it feels like you won two or three games, if you lose, it feels like you lost 10."

When Yasmani Grandal crossed home to end the 5 hour 22 minute game, Braun was standing at first, hands above his head in jubilation as Brewers players swarmed him. Manager Craig Counsell said of Braun that ''We had 11 hits and one guy had six of them, that should say everything about how crazy this game was."

The Mets took a 3-2 lead on Jeff McNeil's single off of Taylor Williams, but the Brewers weren't done. Eric Thames drew a walk off of Mets pitcher Chris Flexen, who then got Mike Moustakas to fly out. But Flexen, who was just called up from Triple A Syracuse, then walked Grandal and Travis Shaw, loading the bases for Braun. Braun then singled into right, ending the game.
