Dexter Fowler had 3 RBI, Marcell Ozuna had 4, and the St.Louis Cardinals mashed the Pittsburgh Pirates 17-4 last night. Paul Goldschmidt also reached base 4 times, with 3 hits and 2 RBI for the redbirds, who had just one run in their last 21 innings, but bounced back in a big way with a season high for runs and 16 hits. The last game the Cards scored this many runs was in an 18-5 win over the Cubs last year.

Fowler broke a 1-1 tie with a ground rule double, scoring 2 runs as part of a 4 run second inning for the Cardinals. The Cards had a 5 run fourth inning that had 10 batters for the Cards, which pushed their lead to 11-2. The Cardinals did all of this without a homer, hitting 10 singles and 6 doubles. Michael Wacha allowed 4 runs over 5 2/3 innings for the Cardinals, giving up 9 hits.
