Oakland Athletics RHP Mike Fiers threw the 300th no hitter in MLB history as the Oakland Athletics beat the Cincinnati Reds 2-0. The no-no was the second of Fiers' career. He walked 2 batters and struck out 6 on 131 pitches. He completed the no hitter by striking out Eugenio Suarez. Fiers was 2-3 with a 6.81 ERA entering the game, and the no hitter lowered his ERA down all the way to 5.48.

Fiers' last no hitter came in 2015 against the Los Angeles Dodgers, back when he was a member of the Houston Astros. Fiers is the 8th pitcher to throw a no hitter with multiple teams. Jurickson Profar and Ramon Laureano made some stellar plays in the 6th inning in order to keep the no hit bid intact. This is the 13th no hitter by an A's pitcher since 1901, and first since Sean Manaea no hit the Boston Red Sox on April 21 of last year. It's also the first no hitter of this season, the last one came on May 8, 2018, when James Paxton no hit the Toronto Blue Jays.
