The crowd in Cincinnati was hyped for Nick Senzel's MLB debut. Derek Dietrich's two 3 run homers had the Reds ahead by 8 runs as the Giants looked asleep. The Giants then realized they wanted to win and woke up, pulling off a shocking comeback to beat the Reds in 11 innings last night.

Stephen Vogt hit the tying homer in the 9th and Evan Longoria connected for the winning homer in the top of the 11th to end San Francisco's streak of losses in Cincinnati, dating back to 2016. It was the fifth time in franchise history the Giants came back from an 8 run defecit to win. The last was in 1989, in Cincinnati coincidentally.

Backup catcher Stephen Vogt was called up earlier this week, completing his long comeback from shoulder surgery that took away his entire 2018 season. After the Giants fell so far behind, Vogt entered the game as part of a double switch, and he took advantage of it. He singled and scored during a 3 run 8th inning, then homered off Reds closer Raisel Iglesias in the 9th, tying the game at 11. Vogt said after the game that ''It kind of felt like my first career homer. I kind of blacked out, there were a lot of emotions going around the bases, mostly pure joy.'' Longoria led off the 11th with the game winning homer, wrapping it around the foul pole to allow the Giants to take the lead and win the game.
