Bryce Harper may be starting to find his groove at the plate. Harper raked a grand slam and Rhys Hoskins added 4 hits as the Philadelphia Phillies mashed the St.Louis Cardinals 11-1. Harper said that ''The last two weeks or whatever it is, like I've said all along, I've missed pitches over the plate and swung at balls out of the zone, on any given night, I got out there and try to do the best I can.''

Harper's slam capped a 6 run second inning in which the Phillies capitalized on two walks and two errors. Manager Gabe Kapler liked what he saw from Harper, saying that ''Bryce looked a little more relaxed, bat flew through the zone on that slider obviously on the grand slam. He looked more at ease. He was letting it go.'' Aaron Nola allowed only 3 hits in 6 innings, giving up a run and striking out 7.

Maikel Franco drove home Odubel Herrera by grounding into a fielder's choice in the second, and then Nola reached first as well, scoring another run and making it 2-0. Harper's grand slam followed, and it was 6-0. In the 5th, JT Realmuto singled in Harper, and then Herrera scored Hoskins on a fielders choice to make it 8-0. In the 7th, Herrera doubled home Hoskins, and Cesar Hernandez hit a sac fly, scoring Realmuto to make it 10-1. Hoskins added a sol homer in the 9th.

The Cardinals only run came off of a Matt Wieters homer in the 6th inning. The Phillies will send righty Jerad Eickhoff to the mound, while the Cardinals counter with Jack Flaherty.
