Yusei Kikuchi dominated in his Yankee Stadium debut, and Ryon Healy had 4 extra base hits as the Mariners trounced the New York Yankees 10-1. Healy homered and hit 3 doubles to help Seattle win for only the second time in 10 games. Mitch Haniger and Edwin Encarnacion also homered for Seattle. The Mariners snapped a 7 game losing streak in the Bronx with this win.

After walking his first batter, Kikuchi retired 16 in a row before Mike Tauchman doubled with one out in the 6th for the Yankees' first hit. Kikuchi struck out 3 over 106 pitches and was in complete control. Encarnacion hit a sac fly in the first and homered in the 5th. Haniger homered to lead off the 3rd, and Healy hit a 2 run bomb in the 8th.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said after the game that he was made aware of a dark substance that could be illegal pine tar inside of Kikuchi's hat. Boone said he would take a look at it. Mike Leake starts in the finale of this series for the Mariners, while JA Happ starts for the Yankees.
