With his start on Wednesday, Atlanta Braves righty Mike Soroka lowered his ERA to a league best 0.98 with 7 shutout innings in a 4-0 win over the St.Louis Cardinals. Soroka's start made him the first MLB pitcher to allow one or fewer earned runs in 9 of his first 11 starts. Manager Brian Snitker said of Soroka, ''What I like about this kid is he doesn't panic. He just goes pitch to pitch, that's a great trait for a young pitcher to have."

Los Angeles Dodgers righty Kenta Maeda made history last night during the Dodgers win over the San Diego Padres. Maeda struck out 12 hitters while driving in both runs in the Dodgers 2-0 win. He's the first pitcher in the RBI era to have 12 or more strikeouts while driving in multiple runs that covered his offense's total output, according to Stats by STATS. At one point during the game, he struck out 6 straight San Diego batters. The Strikeout total was also a season high for Dodger pitching. Maeda is 5-2 through 9 starts this season.

The Colorado Rockies are expected to call up top prospect Brendan Rodgers ahead of their game tomorrow against the Philadelphia Phillies. Rodgers seems to be replacing Trevor Story, who left last night's loss to the Boston Red Sox after colliding with teammate Raimel Tapia. Rodgers has played 3rd, 2nd, and shortstop in Triple A Albuquerque. Rodgers was batting .356 with 9 homers and 10 doubles at Triple A. He has been the top Rockies prospect since 2015, and is number 10 on MLB Pipeline. When he is officially called up, he will be the 5th top 10 prospect to hit the majors this season, and the 3rd highly touted player to reach the majors this week alone.

New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto has been diagnosed with a concussion after colliding with teammate Robinson Cano during their loss today to the Washington Nationals. He was hit by Cano in the jaw while trying to catch a fly ball in the 5th inning, and was promptly removed. He will go back to New York and will miss the Mets series against Miami. Jeff McNeil also had to leave the game for the Mets. Jed Lowrie, Yoenis Cespedes, Steven Matz, and Justin Wilson are already injured for the Mets.

The Chicago Cubs and St.Louis Cardinals will play in London next summer. The MLB will announce the dates of the series later this summer. It will be the Cubs first international series since 2000, when they played the New York Mets in Japan. Kris Bryant said when asked about a potential overseas trip during spring training that "It would be awesome, a cool trip to go over there, I hope it's us." The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees are playing 2 games in London in June this year to kick off MLB's European series.
