The San Diego Padres and the Arizona Diamondbacks will play a series in Mexico City next year. MLB is expected to officially announce the series on Wednesday, with details to follow. So far this year, the Cincinnati Reds, St.Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Angels, and Houston Astros have played in Monterrey, Mexico. The Padres have played in Mexico in 1996, 1999, and last year, all in Monterrey. The Diamondbacks have never played in Mexico. When Mexico City hosts the games, it will officially become the highest city by altitude to host an MLB game. Coors Field is currently the highest elevation point that MLB has ever played a game in.
