Even though the Tampa Bay Rays are one of baseball's better teams, they do not have a lot of fans. 5,786 people witnessed yesterday's game between the Rays and the Toronto Blue Jays, which is the lowest crowd in Tropicana Field history. 6,509 was the previous low, set in 2017, in which there was a forecasted hurricane. Tampa Bay is averaging 14,500 fans per game, second lowest in the league, beating only the Miami Marlins.

Major League Baseball has announced that Suntrust Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, will be home to the 2021 MLB all star game. Former Braves in attendance for the announcement were Hank Aaron, Chipper Jones, Tom Glavine, Phil Niekro, and John Smoltz. Atlanta has hosted the 1972 and 2000 all star games. This year's game will be played in Cleveland, and the 2020 all star game will be played in Los Angeles, at Dodger Stadium.

Ben Zobrist's season is in jeopardy. Three weeks after taking a leave of absence for legal separation matters with his wife, Cubs Manager Joe Maddon is preparing to be without Zobrist for the rest of the year. Maddon said that "I hope that's not the case. But he's at the point now where if he chose to come back, it's going to take him a while to get back up to speed, too. We have to mentally be prepared that we will not have him." Zobrist was hitting .241 before he went on leave. He is in his final year of a contract he signed with Chicago in 2015.

Remember how I said the other day that Carlos Correa wasn't on the IL? Disregard that statement please. The Houston Astros have placed Correa on the 10 day IL and have said he will miss 4-6 weeks with a fractured rib. Correa was hitting .295 with 11 homers before going down. Correa said the issue happened while he was getting a massage at his home. Max Stassi, Aledmys Diaz, Collin McHugh, Jose Altuve, and George Springer are also on the IL for the Astros. Myles Straw was called up from Triple A Round Rock to take Correa's place.
