Michael Chavis homered, Xander Bogaerts hit the game winning double, and the Boston Red Sox snapped the Houston Astros 10 game winning streak with a 4-3 win in the series finale. The at bat where Chavis hit a homer was the at bat where he was introduced by a 5 year old. Chavis said that ''I heard a kid's voice and I looked up and I was so surprised, I was impressed how confident he was." The Red Sox have kids announce players batting for an inning on Sunday home games.

Mookie Betts scored 3 runs for Boston. Once on a groundout by JD Martinez in the first, once on a single by Xander Bogaerts in the 5th, and again on a Bogaerts double in the 7th. Chris Sale went 5 1/3 innings for the Red Sox, striking out 10 in a no decision. Houston manager AJ Hinch said that ''They played better today, they outhit us, but our at-bats against Sale were good."

George Springer left the game in the 5th inning with lower back stiffness. Hinch has already ruled him out for tomorrow's game, and he will be re-evaluated in Houston. Springer said that ''My back stiffened up, not necessarily ideal. We'll see what happens. Hopefully, I'll feel better Monday."

Bogaerts' double off of Framber Valdez scored Betts from first base, making it 4-3, a lead Boston wouldn't give up. Marcus Walden got the win for the Sox, pitching 1 2/3 innings in relief of Sale. He escaped a one out, bases loaded jam by forcing a double play. Brandon Workman threw the 9th inning for his first career save. Trailing 3-1 in the 5th, Chavis homered off Houston starter Wade Miley over the monster, Betts then doubled and scored on Bogaerts' single to tie the game at 3.

Houston goes home to welcome the Chicago White Sox to town, with Brad Peacock getting the start for the Astros. David Price is expected to come off the IL tomorrow and make a start for the Red Sox against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Red Sox and Astros play again next weekend in Houston.
