The Seattle Mariners continue to slide, while the Minnesota Twins continue to amaze. CJ Cron and Jonathan Schoop each hit 2 homers, and Byron Buxton added a grand slam in a 18-4 thrashing of the Mariners last night. They extended their homer streak to 13 games, and are now tied with the Mariners for the best homer total, with 87.

In the first 3 games against Seattle, the Twins have outscored Seattle 36-11, and their 18 runs last night was a season high. Cron said that ''It's fun to put on that kind of offensive performance, one through nine, we all swung it really well so it was fun to watch.'' He also went on to say that ''There's no weak spots in our lineup, as a pitcher, that can't be a comfortable thing. They have to be on their game for every batter.'' Wade Leblanc gave up 7 of the Twins 18 runs, allowing 4 homers for the Mariners.

Cron started the homer barrage in the second, with a solo shot to left field. With Max Kepler, Jason Castro, and Miguel Sano on base, Buxton hit a grand slam to left field to make it 5-0. In the 3rd, Cron hit his second homer of the game to center field, Sano homered to left for the first time this year, and Schoop hit a 3 run homer to make it 10-0. Schoop homered in the 6th to center for a 2 run homer, as the Twins completed the homer cycle, hitting solo, 2 run, 3 run, and a grand slam. Buxton and Schoop both tied career highs for RBI.

Jose Berrios rebounded from his worst start of the season, cruising through 4 innings before being pulled in the 5th inning to finish with a no decision. Kyle Gibson will pitch for the Twins in the series finale today, while Yusei Kikuchi takes the mound for Seattle. First pitch is at 4:10 EDT.
