Christian Yelich connected for his 16th homer in the first inning as the Milwaukee Brewers won their 6th straight game by sweeping the Washington Nationals with a 7-3 win yesterday. Yelich's homer came on the fourth pitch of the day by Nats starter Jeremy Hellickson. The Nationals were swept for the first time this season and have lost 4 in a row. The Nats loaded the bases with one out in the 9th, but then Josh Hader came in and finished them off by striking out the next two batters.

Washington had some misplays in the first inning, which the Brewers took advantage of. Mike Moustakas was able to reach first on an Anthony Rendon error, Ryan Braun was walked, and Adam Eaton overran a fly ball by Eric Thames that wound up to be a ground rule double, scoring Moustakas as the Brewers got 4 runs in that first inning.

Orlando Arcia had a 2 run single to go along with homers from Yelich, Moustakas, and Manny Pina. Brandon Woodruff struck out 9 en route to his 3rd straight win. The Nationals travel to LA to play the Dodgers, where they will send Patrick Corbin to the mound. The Brewers will travel to Wrigley Field to play the surging Cubs, and will start lefty Gio Gonzalez on Friday after an off day.
