Ok, let's check the scores. Maybe there's a rout I can write about. Yeah, here's one, a 16-0 score.  Ok it was the Marlins and Brewers game, it must have been the Brewers... wait it was the Marlins? Yes, you heard right, the Miami Marlins used the power of an 11 run inning to absolutely flatten the Brewers by a 16-0 score last night. Did I mention this was in Milwaukee? Because it was. This was a Marlins record for most runs in an inning, and all 9 batters had an RBI in the 5th, including their pitcher.

In the 5th, with the Marlins already ahead 4-0 on homers by Starlin Castro, Brian Anderson, and Garrett Cooper, Harold Ramirez started the 11 run inning by doubling home Cooper. Jorge Alfaro then singled home Ramirez and Anderson, then Miguel Rojas singled home JT Riddle. The Marlins starting pitcher, Pablo Lopez, then hit an RBI double, and Curtis Granderson and Cooper followed with RBI singles. After Anderson beat out a fielding error to score a run, Castro doubled home a run  and Ramirez scored Anderson on a ground out. JT Riddle then singled to center field to score Castro, and there's your 11 runs. The last run of the game came in the 8th, when Austin Dean doubled home Alfaro to make it 16-0.

The Brewers haven't allowed 11 runs in an inning since May 21, 2000, against the San Francisco Giants. Righty Taylor Williams allowed 8 runs on 6 hits over 1/3 innings, and Corbin Burnes finally got Milwaukee out of the inning with the score 15-0. In the 9th inning, manager Craig Counsell let position player Hernan Perez pitch, and he threw a perfect inning in his 6th appearance as a pitcher. The series continues tonight, with Sandy Alcantara getting the start for the Marlins, going against Jimmy Nelson of the Brewers.
